Sabahans can forget the idea of ever seeing a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on the illegal immigrants.
KOTA KINABALU: A Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on the perennial issue of illegal immigrants and related matters is not going to happen no matter how much the issue is flogged, said opposition Sabah Progressive Peoples Party (SAPP)
As such Sabahans should not bother holding their breaths, hoping for a ‘miracle’, said SAPP in a statement.
Doubtful that the federal government would ever go for a RCI, SAPP information chief Chong Pit Fah said the Putrajaya’s silence on the issue was a clear indication that it is a matter they are unwilling or cannot confront.
Chong claimed that the government is worried that setting up a RCI would backfire on them and some uncomfortable truths will be exposed.
He pointed out that while the various Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties had claimed that the Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak had given the nod for the RCI to be set up, nothing more was heard of it.
“PBS, UPKO and LDP were left red faced when Najib didn’t make any announcement about the matter during his recent visit to Sabah.
“The federal government is attempting to sweep the decade long issue under the carpet,” he said, adding that he agrees with Sabah PKR leader Dr Chong Eng Leong that there are tens of thousands of unqualified voters in Sabah’s electoral rolls.
The RCI, if set up, would have to investigate and explain the so called ‘Project IC’ where foreigners and illegal immigrants were given MyKads and registered as voters and how they became members of BN component parties.
WOULD MALAYA INVESTIGATE ITS DISENFRANCHISING OF SABAHANS VOTERS WITH MASS IMPORTED INSTANT MYKAD VOTERS?
ReplyDeleteNO!
(We knew the answer but it is good to highlight the dirty deeds and wrongdoings of the UMNO colonialist rulers!)
Does this mean no RCI establishment?
ReplyDeleteWe are still waiting for the announcement. There should be RCI formation because it is compulsory for Sabahans to know the truth.
DeleteThe RCI matter has garnered positive attention from the Najib Administration.
DeleteThis issue was voices out vocally not only by our KDM leaders, but also the ruling status quo of our state.
DeleteThe matter was purportedly be announced by Najib during his recent visit to Sabah.
DeleteBut since there is still the matter of the term of reference that needs to be resolved, Najib did not made the announcement.
DeleteOnce the term of reference is resolved, I'm confident Najib will make the announcement.
DeleteI think the federal government should say something regarding this issue.
ReplyDeletethe waiting for pm announcement is beginning to make the people wonder whether RCI will really be set up in sabah.
DeleteTheir answer will be, "still in discussion". Just don't delay this matter for too long. Otherwise people will doubt the sincerity to investigate the problem.
DeleteBut the Term of reference for this matter is still being finalized. Hence the delay of the announcement.
DeleteThis matter requires more time to look into ALL the details as well as to tie up all loose end pertaining to this matter.
DeleteI cannot wait for profound announcement as to RCI setup status in Sabah.
ReplyDeleteThey need to come up with better term of reference on how to conduct the RCI.
DeleteIf RCI setup in Sabah won’t ever happen or take place, then how are they going to investigate the issues concerning illegal immigrants in Sabah?
ReplyDeleteI suppose the case will be completely ignored.
DeleteIgnored and swept under the carpet. BN Umno will say later Project IC actually does not exist.
DeleteJust wait the announcement from PM.
ReplyDeleteTrue. If no RCI, BN is digging a grave for themselves.
DeleteThere are still no announcement yet whether RCI will be set up.
ReplyDeleteWe can't assume that RCI will not be set up. Best to wait for PM to announce his decision.
ReplyDeletenamun diharapkan RCI bukan hanya satu retorik..
