KOTA BELUD : Resurging State Reform Party (STAR) claimed 523 members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) from Kota Belud had or are quitting the Malaya-based- party for STAR.
STAR divisional head for Kota Belud, Rubin Guribah, who was formerly a Kota Belud's PKR deputy divisional head, said at least six PKR's polling district's committee (JDM) here also had been dissolved.
The JDMs are from Kinasaraban, Taginambur, Sayap, Kiau, Gaur and Melangkap areas, he claimed.
According to Guribah, many in the PKR division also had quit the party, losing confidence in its policy and direction. "Among those local leaders who quit with me were Peter Dasim, Naim Angkat, Tingkun Penimbul, Laimin Linahan, Soidol Dominting, Jason Munggin Limpakan and many others," he said.
He disclosed this at the launching of Tempasuk STAR by STAR state chairman, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, yesterday at the house of a former PBS leader who had joined STAR, Suwah Buleh.
Meanwhile, STAR state deputy chairman, Daniel John Jambun, in a statement said more are expected to join STAR not only in Kota Belud but from other districts.
In welcoming the 523 into STAR, Jambun said their bold decision indicated that local Sabahans wanted a strong voice from an independent local party. "The people know what they are doing...this augurs well for STAR and Sabah," he said.
Earlier in his launching speech, Dr Jeffrey called on Sabahans to rally behind the United Borneo Alliance (UBA) in order to push for its seven-point Borneo Agenda STAR mooted.
"Our support is growing and this shows that the people want change, and this is the time for change. Our membership in Sabah has reached 160,000 in a matter of less than three months from our state launching on Jan 6, and this is a very good development," he said.
Also present at the well-attended function were former Kadamaian (in the 1960s known as Sorob and later Kebayau) USNO assemblyman, Ismail Gimbad, president of United Sabah Dusun Tindal Organisation (USTO), James Bagah, and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) supreme council leader, Peter Marajin.

ReplyDeleteMislead by few act smart but irresponsible coach (crooks) making silly sabahan still like to presume they are playing all "England" whether in Liverpool or Manchester United...Lol!!!
DeleteI WILL VOTES FOR STAR!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBagus cina SAPP masuk STAR, sekurang-kurangnya mereka dibagi peluang bertanding di kerusi kawasan Cina!!! kerana kena ingat kalau kawasan bukan orang cina mereka tiada sokongan takut nanti hilang wang pertaruhan!! fikir-fikirkan dan terus masuk SAPP!!!!
ReplyDeletemaksudnya ahli2 SAPP masuk jadi ahli STAR!!!
Deletesaya setuju sama Mr Jeorge !
Deletesaya setuju sama Mr Jeorge !
DeleteWow a big of number, is it true? but they have their own choices. They can go and come back again.
DeleteAny reason why were they leaving? They should have a good reason for leaving.
ReplyDeleteAround 30 UBF activist has stated their plan to leave Star to rejoin BN because they have lost hopes that Jeffrey can truly lead the UBA movement after being involved in the politics of Star. They felt that the UBA movement was politicized for Star.
ReplyDeleteUBF is NGO and nothing to do with membership of STAR! even we encourage more BN's members become UBF's member!!!! But our struggle is one!!! preserve Borneon's right!!!
Deletebut the Star leaders have used the UBF as their political tools..besides, Star and UBF share the same leaders..
DeleteStar and UBF sharing same principles....the truth is Sabahan using STAR and UBF to get their own right!!!! do you think without them BN will return sabahan's right??? It's impossible!!! we need to fight through STAR to reclaim Sabahan (natives) right.
DeleteFor sure PKR Sabah is being abandoned by many, it shows that PKR should focus on the West Malaysian parties and leave Sabah to our local parties instead. 2,000 PKR members have left the party in several division especially Keningau. Some of those who left are Fred Aliun, Dominic Liew, Adrian Mikin and Alex Amik...
Deletesudah lompat pagar semua tu PKR
DeleteIt shows that local party is more preferable by the people from outside party.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Sir!!!! vote for STAR!!!
DeletePKR Sabah makin tenggelam jika ia berterusan.
ReplyDeletepeluang PKR di Sabah makin tipis.
ReplyDeletememang pun makin tipis...tiada apa yang PKR boleh tawarkan kepada sabah...rakyat mula sedar bahawa PKR hanya mementingkan agenda politik pemimpin mereka sahaja..
DeletePKR Sabah semakin terkubur.
ReplyDeleteSTAR seems to be the dominant opposition party in sabah.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look good for PKR. PKR chances to win in this coming election is low.
DeleteSTAR is BN's creature created to destroy PKR SABAH. It was created just when election is around the corner. You will see if STAR will remain against BN after election.
ReplyDeleteSTAR is Sarawak base party, so it's not logic for them to become BN's member!!! but SAPP for sure will return to BN as long their president given position as Minister in federal cabinet!!!
DeleteVery unlikely.
DeleteThe best for PKR is to focus west malaysia and let the local parties handle sabah and sarawak. This is a win-win situation. Malaya must stop colonising the two borneo states and respect them as equal partner as agreed in the Malaysia Agreement.
ReplyDeleteReally agree...let's give STAR big majority and SAPP for chinese seat...
DeleteStar masih baru, masih panas lagi. Nanti2, makin lama makin sejuk.
ReplyDeletemakin sejuk kerana sudah stabil dengan menjadi pemerintah kerajaan negeri Sabah!!! mari ramai-ramai undi STAR!!!
ReplyDeleteBN akan kalah teruk... Enough is enough!!!
Deleteini lagi berita ahli PKR keluar parti..
