There is a need for balance in the number of representatives from Sabah and Sarawak in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) Cabinet committee.
Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Abang Openg (pic) said representatives from the two states should comprise the majority of members.
"It must be balanced. Then you can deliberate on issues that may be questioned now under the Malaysia Agreement 1963. Otherwise, it will be lopsided," he said after a two-hour town hall session with Sarawakians at the Lan Berambeh programme, here.
Abang Johari is concerned that representatives from Sabah and Sarawak could be outnumbered in the event of a vote. The committee was initiated by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad to realise provisions enshrined in MA63.
