KOTA KINABALU - Security forces in Sabah are on the lookout for 18 individuals for suspected involvement in cross-border crime and terrorism.
Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) commander Datuk Hazani Ghazali said the 18 foreign suspects were wanted to help solve a series of cross-border crimes that occurred in Sabah’s east coast throughout 2018.
The 18 individuals include seven new names on the wanted list.
“The new names are Salip Mura, Sibih Pisih, Titing Alihasan @ Iyot Panday, Roger Saji, Long Sahirin, Jul Aksan Abdurajan @ Halimaw and Ben Tatoh,” he said in a statement issued yesterday.
The rest are Hatib Hajan, Apo Mike, Indang Susukan, Al Munjir Yadah, Raden Abuh, Sangbas Anjang, Hamsan Pakan @ Black Cobra, Sabri Madrasul @ Salip Jul, Jul@Jun Hasan, Tampi Bunju and Marajan Manajan.
Hazani said the updated list was based on intelligence sources and information from their counterparts in the Philippines.
“These suspects are wanted in numerous cases, including kidnapping, piracy and smuggling activities on Sabah’s east coast, among other places. Some of them are believed to have been involved in killing of hostages,” he said.
Hazani said since January 2016, Esscom had issued an alert for 45 suspected criminals, of which 29 had been neutralised or deleted from the list.
“This is because they were either killed or have surrendered themselves to security forces,” he said.
He called on the public to inform the security forces if they had information on these suspects.
Those with information are urged to inform the Esscom action room at 089-863 181 or WhatsApp to 019-230 5909 or contact the nearest police station.
