TAWAU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) came to the aid of a man who was paralysed following a stroke three years ago and has eight schoolgoing children.
SAPP vice president Datuk Chua Soon Bui together with SAPP supreme councillors CK Yong, Kenneth Goh and party leaders visited the Chin family and rendered assistance to pay for school fees, books and computer fees for some of the children to ensure all eight children can continue with their education.
Chua, who is also the Tawau member of parliament, said Chin who had been paralysed from a stroke three years ago, found it difficult to pay the rising costs of education for his children who are attending classes in kindergaden and up to Form Four.
"They are now living in a rented house in Taman Semarak. I am, touched by the spirit of thc family, especially Mrs Chin who has been doing odd jobs and collecting plastic and paper for recycling sale.
Since her husband was disabled three years ago, she had never allowed her children to go hungry and continued to brace hardship so that the children can continue with their studies.
"No matter how poor they are, the children must finish their education so that they will have a better future," she said yesterday.
Mrs Chin managed to trace the SAPP group during their new year visits to the shoplots and had touched the hearts of the members.
SAPP members will also bring Chinese New Year goodies to the family so that they too will enjoy the warm spirit of tne New Year festival.

Lets help the poor and needy whenever you can. Do not mix up with the politics !! Good to do charity work .
ReplyDeletekalau mahu bantu, biarlah ikhlas...jangan pula ada udang disebalik batu..
DeleteCharity is meant to help the needy. Not for political gain.
DeleteDespite of poverty, the children must carry on with their education. This is a good mentality and ought to be supported.
ReplyDeleteWhen the school fees are exempted, students from poor families will be able to attend school with less burdens.
ReplyDeleteExempt fee is good for the students from poor families.
DeleteIt is good to help the poor and needy.
ReplyDeleteLet’s assist the less privilege at all time.
ReplyDeleteAcademic affair is very important for the children.
ReplyDeleteWe should learn the art of charity at least to help the children.
ReplyDeleteCharity is good not only to us but also for our kids’ future, they too can learn from us.
ReplyDeletebut do not use the charity as a political tools..
Deletegolongan yang susah mmg harus diberi bantuan.
ReplyDeletesemoga anak2 mereka dpt belajar dgn baik.
ReplyDeleteIt's their responsible to the society. It's a good act.
ReplyDeleteBless them for their kindness
DeleteThere are more who needs help. We should pay attention to them.
ReplyDeleteKesiannya..
ReplyDeleteSAPP did this with sincerity. hopefully!
Deleteif sapp is just doing this for the sake of getting the people's vote then they are clearly not sincere at all.
DeleteKalau tidak dekat PRU mana SAPP mahu melawat
ReplyDeletekeluarga yang sangat tabah dan sabar!
ReplyDeletegood effort for SAPP to assist this family.
ReplyDeleteHelping the needy is a good deed, keep it up!
ReplyDeletewe all should also practice doing charity work.
DeleteOther parties should beware of the needy too.
ReplyDeleteSo far,i think parties such as DAP, SAPP, and PKR has been doing some charity work but new parties such as STAR has yet to do so.
DeleteMost probably because STAR just got launched recently.
ReplyDeleteIndirectly, this serve a lesson to all married couple to have family planning.
DeleteFamily planning is indeed important especially for hardcore poor families. Some have too much children and they are not able to care for them. I've seen some families have 6 children and more but the parents monthly income is only RM400 to RM600.
ReplyDeleteIts a win-win situation for them. SAPP gets the publicity and the family get to have their kids continue attending class.
ReplyDeleteWell, that's the point actually.
DeleteI admire Mrs. Chin spirit to make sure that her children will not have to go hungry and in making sure they continue their education. What a great mom! Bless her and her family. I hope Mr. Chin will recovery fully.
ReplyDeleteIts an admirable spirit, all should learn from Mrs. Chin. It is too bad that many students have to pull out from school due to poverty. Only education can help these children make a better life for themselves in the future.
DeleteI hope to see more charity work from SAPP. Keep up the good charity work!
ReplyDeletethere are more families who suffered more than this family, do assist them SAPP.
ReplyDeleteSAPP claim there are non-racial party, so i hope help will also be given to other races other than chinese.
ReplyDeleteAgree, help should be extended to the needy regardless of their race or religion.
DeleteDo good to others and good things will return to you.
ReplyDeleteGood if SAPP give some present to Chin for Chinese New Year coming soon.
ReplyDeleteHope have the welfare & government will help such as financial or goods for this family to ease the burden.
ReplyDeleteGod bless this family..apa yg SAPP lakukan memang baik..tapi perlu ikhlas..bukan semata2 kerana politik.
ReplyDeleteGreat job from SAPP to help those who needed help.
ReplyDeleteLets be a bit positive about SAPP to help the people.
ReplyDeleteBukan hanya 1 keluarga, banyak lagi yang memerlukan perhatian yang wajar. Dengan SAPP alone, not able to help the entire Sabah.
ReplyDeleteSAPP should help them to get the financial aid rm100 and rm500 from the government.. or maybe this family already get it but not mentioned by SAPP..
ReplyDeleteAgree to Shinia, respective welfare department should look into the situation and giving assistance.
