KOTA BELUD :The recent announcement by visiting DPM Muhyiddin Yassin in Kota Belud that the Federal Government had approved funds for the asphalting of six important rural roads within Kadamaian next year is nothing but an insult to the people's intelligence.
We are not amused when Muhyiddin further revealed that he had instructed Minister of Rural Development and Regional, Shafie Apdal, to bring forward the fund for the purpose from 2014 to next year. Why can't they just start doing it this year if they are sincere.
Why approve projects that to be carried out after a future general election? Does the Umno deputy president know something that we don't that he was so confident Umno would still be the ruling party after the 13th GE?
This is only an election promise which usually is seldom fulfilled by Umno-led central government. Why wait till election time to announce it? This is buying of votes, and buying votes is a clear cut corruption.
Muhyiddin also talked about a "magic wand". We never asked for a "magic wand". What we asked was for our rights and autonomy to be respected and restored and that we should manage our own money, the hefty RM40 billions we send to Federal coffers every year, but get little in return.
On the other hand, PBS has been readmitted into BN for 11 years now with Herbert Timbon Lagadan been the ADUN of Kadamaian for a record 3rd term, yet he is still talking about road upgrading for the kampungs in Kadamaian, which means he had done nothing to upgrade all the kampung roads for the last 11 years, which means he has failed as a Wakil Rakyat and the PBS failed the Kadamaian folks under the BN government.
The Federal Government under Umno had failed the Kadamaian folks for the past 49 years of 'merdeka" despite the fact that billions of Sabah funds flowed into federal coffers, not to mention another billions from Sabah's oil and gas since 1976.
The Federal government is simply bullying the Kadamaian folks into voting PBS in the coming election with empty promises. Why wait for next year when they can implement the projects right away?

stupid .. What 'magic wand' ? is he a fan of Harry Potter or what ? we are living in the real world, not in the imagination of a writer or in the hallucination of politicians !! GET REAL man !!
ReplyDeleteAfter BN wins GE13, all projects will be delayed or stalled due to high cost and lack of materials.
ReplyDeleteMuhyiddin will again promise to implement these projects after GE14.
All Sabahans are again reminded to be patient and always support BN.
The people are wise enough to know which party to trust and support.
DeleteThe people are smart enough to make choices.
DeleteAnd do you think the oppositions have a magic to fulfill their promises in a blink of eyes?
DeleteCrooks, the whole load of them. Kick them out...better yet, kick Malaysia out.
ReplyDeleteIt wholly depends on the people. In your eyes, they may be crooks but others may think it otherwise.
DeleteWe have kicked out the oppositions.
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of development we have enjoyed for example the RM150,000 for Felda settlers.
DeleteTruthfully, the government has done a lot for us but we kept been reminded by oppositions to ignore the bliss. Let's see what we have now. We have more tourist arrivals, more tourist attractions, development projects for PPRT and so forth. I do understand how it feel to be abandoned by why we have gone so far? Look beside you and you'll realized that you have more than you think.
ReplyDeleteTo please everybody is impossible. At least our situation is better than those countries in Middle East that are having war everyday.
ReplyDeleteLet the people decide for themselves.
ReplyDeleteWe will see what are the results during the next general elections.
DeleteI believe we are all wise and know what is right.
ReplyDeleteSabahans be supportive and cooperative.
DeleteAdvices to all…vote wisely in the next GE13.
ReplyDeleteDo not let your emotion controls you.
DeleteThe government has done well in the previous years, we are hoping for better development.
Deleteis it a mistake to announce the plan that will be implemented next year??
ReplyDeleteIt's just to give the people something to look forward to.
Deleteif sapp sincere about the road problem in this state, why not solve it in two years during YTL time as CM of Sabah??
ReplyDeleteSAPP too could not bring development or solve problem in a blink of eyes. Everything will takes time. To critic the current govt will not make SAPP look better.
DeleteSAPP never use their chances as the government to make changes, only after they lose their power then they start barking.
DeleteFederal Government had approved funds for the asphalting of six important rural roads within Kadamaian next year is nothing but an insult to the people's intelligence.
ReplyDeletesudah namanya perancangan, mesti la mengambil masa.. bolehkah sapp melaksanakan semua projek mereka serentak sebaik ianya dicadangkan??
ReplyDeleteSabah has been allocated RM4.416 billion under the Second Rolling Plan (of the 10th Malaysia Plan) to carry out 724 projects.
ReplyDeleteAnd as of May 3 this year, a sum of RM692 million or 15.6 per cent of the allocation for 2012 had been spent on development projects.
ReplyDeleteChief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman made the disclosure after chairing the State Action Committee meeting.
ReplyDeleteMusa said he had reminded every ministry and related departments to ensure all government initiatives were made known to the people, especially projects that would benefit the target groups.
ReplyDeleteMusa also said members of the committee were also told yesterday that what mattered most was the people’s satisfaction towards the initiatives undertaken by the government in terms of services, wealth creation and effectiveness in resolving problems.
ReplyDeleteThe civil servants too play a crutial role in state development: the Chief Minister urged members of the civil service to ensure the projects listed under the Second Rolling Plan achieved their objectives.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Musa urged Sabahans who had gone to the peninsula to look for jobs to return to Sabah. He said there were currently some 20,000 job available in the State.
ReplyDeleteThose who have experience working in the hotel and service industry should come back as a lot of hotels and resorts are being built throughout the State.
ReplyDeletePlanning and policy-makers should be ‘people oriented’ to create a community-friendly environment by providing access facilities based on a standard that is universally acceptable.
ReplyDeleteMinister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun said, accessibility is not just going in and out of buildings, but cover all other aspects such as the road system and public transport facilities.
ReplyDeleteShe believes that if all the basic facilities for the disabled are given attention, there would be more people with disabilities (OKU) being able to contribute to the economic development and the government would not need to spend a lot of money just by giving aid.
ReplyDeleteThe government takes serious care and concern for the disabled with the introduction of the Disabled Persons Act 2008. Under the Act, the disabled has the right to access and use the facilities, amenities, services and public buildings.
ReplyDeleteTherefore, the government or the provider of any facility, amenity, service and public buildings must give appropriate consideration and take the necessary steps to conform to the universally acceptable design in order to facilitate access for the disabled.
