DAP Sabah boys barking up wrong tree

KOTA KINABALU - Nazib Maidan of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) slammed DAP Sabah Junz Wong for his remarks to associate SAPP with Project IC voters.

SAPP Youth Exco Nazib Maidan said DAP has become even more cynical in attacking SAPP when the 13th general election is around the corner.

"Whenever you implicate someone you must also provide evidence, making slandering statement against another opposition party is not helping the oppositions's effort to topple Barisan Nasional but weaken the oppositions' cooperation." stressed Nazib.

Nazib also echoed its Kota Kinabalu Zone Youth Chief that Sabah DAP did not show it is capable of solving Sabah issue especially pertaining to the illegal immigrants associated with Project IC. The DAP Malaya leaders came to Sabah to give talks but did not offer any concrete solution toward these illegal immigrant problems, they just come and go.

He said the on-going Royal Commission of Inquiry {RCI} hearing indicated that the main person behind the “Project IC” was former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir who was also the then  UMNO President.

He added that it is also reported at the RCI hearing that former Chief Minister Datuk Seri Osu Sukam of UMNO won the election defeating Tunku Ariah of PBS with the help of "new" voters and went on to becomes the Chief Minister. "It is evident that the issue of giving thousands of citizenship to illegal immigrants and making them voters was the doing of UMNO who is heading the Federal Government," he said.

During the tenure of another former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, SAPP has relentlessly demanded the government to take serious action on the problem of massive influx of illegal immigrants into Sabah, he said.

Nazib (right) said a 14-point proposals and ideas contained in the memorandum “Time for Direct Preventive Actions” was submitted to the Prime Minister 2006 but no action was taken.

Earlier in 1999, he said SAPP had already submitted a memorandum titled “Illegal Immigrants: Mother of All Treats” and this 14–point memorandum was an addition.

"However, SAPP's persistence on this matter was viewed negatively and been considered a thorn in the flesh by top BN leadership and it is the last straw to declared a vote of no confidence against Abdullah Badawi before SAPP left BN," he added.

Nazib questioned Junz Wong as to whom he consider is the oppositions' enemy is it UMNO or SAPP?

"When all evidence of giving citizenship to the illegal immigrants were directed to UMNO why Junz Wong does not attack UMNO? Is DAP Sabah colluding with UMNO?, Otherwise why was he directing his attack to SAPP instead of UMNO the real culprit?" Nazib questioned DAP.

He stressed that SAPP had in many occasion said will work together with Pakatan Rakyat to ensure PR march forward to Putrajaya and at the same time work hand in hand with Sabah based parties to win State seats against BN. "We hope to be reciprocated with some respect and goodwill from PR members, said Nazib.

"Would Sabah DAP willing to work together with SAPP to bring down Barisan Nasional"? asked Nazib.
