Mojigoh to Siambun: "Bark up your own tree"

KOTA KINABALU - Putatan MP Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh says he will not stop telling the government the grouses and issues affecting the people, especially those in his constituency.

Mojigoh said it is therefore wrong for Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah vice chairman cum Moyog assemblyman Terrence Siambun to tell him to stop voicing out the grouses of the people.

“To tell me to stop shouting for the Sabah people because it would fall on deaf ears is wrong. I am an elected representative, so if the rakyat ask me to voice out I will because if I don’t, it means I have failed as a wakil rakyat,” he said.

Mojigoh was responding to Siambun’s statement where the latter opined that it is useless for him to keep on complaining as if he is an opposition member of parliament when he himself knows very well that his complaints will not be entertained.

“He has been complaining all these while but has the Federal government attended to any of his complaints?” Siambun said, adding that Mojigoh had indirectly confirmed that discrimination and preferences do exist while relating on the treatment of the Sabah flood victims to the extent that he had to appeal for it.

Mojigoh, in reply, insisted that it was not wrong for him to ask (the government) on issues that needs to be addressed.

“Are there no other issues? This is shallow politics. Next time, please check properly on other people’s achievement or failures before poking your nose in Putatan,” he said and was quizzical of the fact that Siambun seemed to be interested in the development in Putatan.

“Well, thank you very much. The allocation we have been asking for in Putatan has been delivered. Now let me ask him. How much allocation did he get for his constituents?” he asked.

He said all the allocations asked for by Putatan from Barisan Nasional had already been given out in line with keeping the promises fulfilled.

“We will not stop asking for more funds and that my friend, is the beauty in BN,” he said.

“However, since the expectation of the people is indeed high, not all can be delivered instantly as money is not within our grip. Of course, sometimes we have to wait. This guy (Siambun) don’t understand… pity him,” he said.
