SANDAKAN - A flight attendant succumbed to injuries after the four-wheel vehicle she was traveling in crashed at Km 60 off Sandakan-Telupid Bypass here on Friday.
Deputy district police chief Superintendent Fadzil Mohd Ali yesterday said the vehicle lost control at 4.55pm, entered the opposite lane and collided with a car before falling into a nearby cliff.
Kay Marylyn Madonna Josuie, 25, who was a back seat passenger, died at the Beluran Hospital around 8.45pm while receiving treatment.
The driver of the four-wheel drive, Hardy Bin Johnny, 26, and passengers Kelly Magdalena Josuie, 30, Azhary Aedan Bin Hardy, two months old and Shafiqah Tsen Sei Mei, 18, sustained minor injuries.
The car’s driver escaped injury and was brought to Sandakan police station for further investigation. It was found that both drivers were free from alcohol.
Fadzil said the case would be investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Kay was a stewardess for MASwings and the second runner-up of the 2006 state unduk ngadau.
