Daylight robbery at Tuaran Gold Shop

TUARAN - Three masked men robbed a jewelry shop this morning around 8:30 am in Pekan Tuaran.

The robbers who are heavily armed with a MP5 Semi-Auto and two pistols broke the jewelry display cases, made off with RM150,000 worth of jewellery in a white Perodua Viva are still believed to have escaped using the Tuaran and Jalan Kelapa Bakar road towards Kota Kinabalu.

The customer was hit in the head by a weapon.

District police chief DSP Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said the 30-year-old victim had been rushed to hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

“Police investigation believed the victim tried to stop the robbers but one of the suspects hit him on the head with the weapon,” he said.

No gunshot was fired during the incident and police are still investigating into the case, including identifying and tracking down the suspects.

However, police found a live bullet at the crime scene.

Meanwhile police are on the hunt for these three suspects.

This is the fourth robbery incident reported within this month.
