Pro-Umno ‘Propaganda Expert’ Papagomo barred from Sarawak

Controversial blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, also known as Papagomo, has been barred from entering Sarawak.

The popular pro-Umno blogger arrived at the Kuching International Airport around 12.15pm on AirAsia Flight AK8672 from Kuala Lumpur, but was denied entry upon arrival.

Papagomo appeared puzzled over the ban, as the reason behind the ban was because he was a “propaganda expert”.

“It’s weird, I’m not an elected representative or a leader,” he said via WhatsApp.

The controversial blogger will be deported to Kuala Lumpur on the next available flight.

Last week, Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem explained that he had barred over 20 Opposition leaders and several activists from entering Sarawak “to protect the state from unsavoury elements.”

Adenan, however, stressed that the ban also applied to several individuals from Barisan Nasional and Umno.

Recently, Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Yunos was denied entry into the state along with three of his friends.

The ban had also been applied to several prominent DAP leaders, including Seremban MP Anthony Loke and Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching.
