SAPP regrets Rejection of NCR Land Tribunal

TENOM: Natives especially those who have an interest in Native Customary Rights (NCR) land are worried and anxious because the Government has rejected the proposed Native Land Tribunal.

Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Supreme Council member, Roger Stimin, said by rejecting the proposal, the Government is giving an excuse that the Sabah Land Ordinance (SLO) to determine NCR land claims is already sufficient and still relevant.

He said the Government should not depend on the SLO alone but transform NCR land management to be more conducive to resolve the issue rather than drag people to court.

SAPP perjuang hak asasi tanah NCR selain baiki ekonomi negeri Sabah

TENOM:  Presiden Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee  menegaskan bahawa parti itu akan terus membela nasib rakyat yang tertindas kerana masalah rampasan tanah dan hak asasi tanah anak negeri (NCR) seperti yang berlaku di Kinabatangan, Serudong Tawau, Kudat, Tenom dan diLahad Datu setelah parti itu diberi mandat rakyat membentuk kerajaan baru selepas pilihanraya umum kali ke-13 (PRU13).

Beliau berkata, rakyat cukup menderita jika keadaan sebegini berterusan apabila hak rakyat yang miskin terus tertindas dimana tanah tanah dirampas, rumah dirobohkan oleh syarikat syarikat gergasi dari luar Sabah, malangnya pihak berkuasa khususnya PDRM tidak berbuat apa apa.

Marajin hits back at Mositun over muted KDCA on NCR issues

By Peter Marajin

KOTA KINABALU : In respond to Johnny Mositun's statement over the above issue, I would say that Joseph Pairin Kitingan just cannot hide behind the cultural nature of KDCA and use this as an excuse to remain mute in the wake of the onslaught on KDM's native customary lands.

Pairin cannot completely detach himself from this issue given his position as the Deputy Chief Minister of the very government which bent on destroying the NCR of the KDMs whose native ethnic he himself belong to.

CM's statement on study of Native Title Tribunal disputes is of no value and redundant

KOTA KINABALU: A strong political will is needed to solve the land problem faced by natives in Sabah instead of mere political statements, said Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Deputy President Datuk Eric Majimbun.

"There must be a political will to solve this problem and this was agreed by Tan Sri Simon Sipaun in his talk in the recent symposium on native land. This is enforced by SAPP with its Land Reform policy," he said.

He said the chief minister statement "to study on need on Native Title Tribunal on Sabah disputes" was of no value and redundant.

Sumpah Laknat Untuk BN?

Shaimon S Jumadi

Elimination of NCR on land violates fundamental rights.

PUTRAJAYA: The elimination of native customary rights (NCR) on land occupied by two groups of indigenous people in Sarawak amounted to a gross violation of their fundamental rights, the Federal Court here heard yesterday.

Lawyer Sulaiman Abdullah, representing the native groups, argued that the directive issued by the Sarawak Minister for Resource Planning to deny the customary rights of natives on their land ought to be set aside because it deprived the natives of their life, livelihood and way of life.
