TWO members of the Abu Sayyaf Group were killed in an encounter with 35th Infantry Battalion troopers in Patikul, Sulu, Thursday morning.
Joint Task Group-Sulu commander Brigadier General Alan Arrojado said they received the reports from their intelligence operatives, adding that the bandits were killed during the 7:30 a.m. encounter in Barangay Latih, Patikul town, Sulu.
He said the troops were conducting security patrols when they encountered the bandits headed by Alkam Udjaman, triggering a 30-minute gunbattle.
No soldier was reported killed or injured. (PNA)
